Do we need another one? November 14, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Joyce Meyers is one of a host of "Christian" writers whose works are pretty much self-help book of the month club writings with a few Bible verses thrown in for justification.
Ok, so it's a nice book. Makes you feel good. Gives you some sense of hope. In that it serves a purpose.
But these books are formula and lack depth. You'll find these at your local Goodwill in a few years (or less) for under a dollar. No staying power.
Quote some Scriptures, give a few home-spun stories or analogies, philosophize and theorize and attempt to theologize about said Scripture. Do this for a few chapters, come up with a catchy title (that is difficult to distinguish from the plethora of other self-help titles) and publish.
How many more books by Ms. Meyers, Max Lucado, Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes and authors of similar calibre do we need?

Great book! I couldn't put it down. Very well written and easy to read. It is a book that I will refer to often. This book will open your eyes and heart and change your life in the first chapter.

I have several Joyce Meyer books and they have all been wonderful sources of encouragement and helped me tremendously in my life. Joyce's books teach you how to live each day of your life and learn how to enjoy each day, no matter what you may be going through, relying on the Lord as your strength and source for all your needs.
