Product Description
What are you thinking about?

Research indicates that the average person thinks approximately 50,000 thoughts per day. Each thought moves you either toward your God-given potential or away.

Unfortunately, we live in a society bent on nursing old wounds and highlighting what is wrong with just about everything. As a result, we have grown accustomed to viewing the world, our lives, and ourselves through a lens of negativity--and that negativity stands in direct contrast to the passionate, purpose-filled people God wants us to be.

In Philippians 4:8, the apostle Paul challenges us to seek out and dwell on the positives in our lives. When used as a filter, this New Testament verse is the true secret to vibrant health, satisfying relationships, and lasting fulfillment.

Whether you are at a low point or a high point in your life, The 4:8 Principle can help you experience joy by design--God's design. You'll quickly discover life as it was meant to be!

Unleash the power of the 4:8 Principle today! It really is the secret to a joy-filled life!

5 out of 5 stars Live in Joy and Gratitude   December 21, 2008
*****
The 4:8 Principle is a book for Christians based on the Bible verse Philippians 4:8. It is written by a life and success coach. The focus of the book is how to clean up our thought life so that we can live in joy much or most of the time.

Instead of allowing our thoughts and emotions to just arise randomly and out of our awareness, we truly can be intentional about having positive thoughts and emotions. In fact, this is Scriptural (that is, according to the Bible), and Tommy Newberry teaches us how.

This book is very practical, edifying, and totally Bible-based. It is also unforgettable, and one I will continue to use as a resource as I develop a more positive life.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Life changing read...   October 13, 2008

I really had no idea what joy was before I read this book...or how to get some of it! In a world where we are constantly surrounded by negativity, this book gives you practical tools to apply to everyday life to combat all the world throws your way. I think happiness is a state of mind that most people are searching for, but joy, on the other hand, transcends more than a state of mind...it's a state of being that is more about what radiates inside of you than how you feel in a particular set of circumstances. Emotions can be deceptive and manipulated, but joy is a fruit of the spirit. After being in an emotionally abusive relationship for nearly 10 years, this book has helped me take those negative, self-defeating thoughts captive and replace them with positive, self-affirming thoughts and it has made all the difference. I refuse to be a victim any longer, but instead choose to be a victor. Read this book, I know it will make all the difference in the world. I'm on here today to buy another copy of the book because I gave mine away. What's frustrating is that not many bookstores carry copies of the book...thank goodness for Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars A must read .... and share.   September 3, 2008

Excellent book based on practical biblical teaching plus some good human coaching. Anyone stuck in a negative rut should pick this up and read it. It's a good book to share with others too. I was intrigued by the title and bought this book with the intention of giving it to a friend who really needed help getting through some tough times. I read it prior to giving it to her to be sure it met her needs and I think it hit the nail right on the head for her. Hopefully it will help her. I got some practical pearls out of it too.
