Product Description
For the first time, one of musics most popularand headline-makingrap artists shares his private reflections, drawings, handwritten lyrics, and never-before-seen photographs.

Fiercely intelligent, relentlessly provocative, and prodigiously gifted, Eminem is known as much for his enigmatic persona as for being the fastest-selling rap artist and the first rapper to ever win an Oscar. Now, in The Way I Am, he shares his private thoughts on everything from his inner struggles, to the trials of being famous, to his love for his daughter, Hailie, creating a book that is every bit as raw and uncensored as the man himself.

Illustrated with never-before-seen photographs of Eminems home and life along with original drawings, The Way I Am is filled with reflections on his greatest hits, previously unpublished lyric sheets, and other rare memorabilia. Providing his millions of fans with a personal tour of Eminems creative process, it is poised to be hailed in much the same way as Tupacs The Rose that Grew from Concrete, Bob Dylans Chronicles, and Journals by Kurt Cobain.

4 out of 5 stars good Book.   January 6, 2009
I bought this book as a gift, and they were surprised. Being an Eminem fan they didn't even know it was out there. So it was a surprise.

I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my almost son-in-law, I know he will love it. My daughter and I were both pleasantly suprised when we looked through it. We can't wait to see his face when he opens this on Christmas morning. I would recommend this book as a great gift.

5 out of 5 stars He is so cool-and has a really good sence of values, with no parents, it's amazing!   December 20, 2008
I got this book and read it in 3 days during my babies naps. He writes alot about his friend PROOF, that just died. I think it might be good for him in a way. He mostly talks about his childhood, i would love to hear how he lives now with the money. Just wondering how he travels! private jet? where? For a guy who grew up with no mother role model and no father, he really knows right from wrong. For instance: to put his daughter first. And sticks with actually doing that, living that! Knowing about jealousy issues and staying away from a dangerous public place,I love him!
He was always an enterpernour, because the book tells of his other interests growing up, and he was going to be the BEST basketball player or artist!

5 out of 5 stars You thought you knew Eminem Right?   December 12, 2008

This has got to be one of the best books I have read. [100% buy if you are a fan] Eminem gets deep, not extremely deep, but good enough. He talks about his experience before and after his fame. He talks about his connection and loss with proof. It actually inspired me to continue my dream, because he did work to get where he is. I will say that it was kind of short. Also, if your buying this book just to see how he writes his songs, be aware that it's very hard to read, but he does have sentences on the bottom explaining some of the meanings of the raps. I've been a fan of Eminem since I was 10, and I finally got to know him more with his book, after I read the first 100 pages, I went to wash the dishes and thought, damn I shouldn't keep Em waiting, and by that I thought, wow, reading that book really made me feel like I was sitting next to him talking, it felt like I was chilling with Eminem. When I finished the book [took 6 hours] I wanted to say, see ya later, and open the front door for him. Eminem is an inspiration, this book is one of his biggest pieces of inspiration, and it's the best way to chill with Eminem [without seeing him personally].

5 out of 5 stars Must have book for an Em fan   December 2, 2008

One of the best pieces of work I have seen from Eminem. You get a look into his personal life and the man behind the brilliant lyrics. This book told me just enough about his life to respect him, but without giving away too many details. The pictures were awesome and entertaining, and there are many original copies of his lyrics. If you enjoy Em's music, you must get this book because it shows him in a completely different light. Everyone I showed it to was amused, even those who are not particularly fans of his.
