Church History January 8, 2009 I haven't finished reading this book, but I know that I will. Pennock writes in an easy style that is uncomplicated and captivating. I purchased this book as an aid to a class I had been taking. I have skipped around and found it informative. It includes a Catholic Handbook for Faith, Scripture Index, Glossary of selected terms and each chapter has a summary, reflection, & review and discussion questions.

The text is very exciting to read. It is an historical survey of the history of the Roman Catholic Church and, as such, is very sketchy and requires that you do some research to fill in the gaps. Very enjoyable reading with or without the research!
