Product Description
YOUR LIFE'S GREATEST ADVENTURE IS AHEAD OF YOU. AND IT WILL LAST FOREVER. The deepest longing of your heart is for one person and one place. Jesus is that person. Heaven is that place. A thousand counterfeits vie for your attention, trying to convince you that they are what you're looking for. But you'll never find true satisfaction with what the Shadowlands of this world have to offer. What you really crave can only be found in the land of substance: heaven.

In Light of Eternity will grip your soul and open your eyes to the realities of heaven. Far from boring, heaven promises to be an exhilarating adventure in which every chapter is better than the one before. One moment after you die, you'll find out what's on the other side. Don't wait until then. Let this book guide you into discovering how wonderful your eternal future will be-and what you can do now to prepare for it. The real adventure of life awaits you on the other side, with the person you were made for...and the place He's made for you.

5 out of 5 stars Bereavement   October 12, 2008
The author succeeds in pointing out the joys of Heaven, and why it is far better than this world. The sting of death in grieving for a lost one or the fear of dying ourselves are so overcome that we no longer feel sorry for our own condition when we see what God has promised in that better life. Have a copy or two of this book on hand when someone needs it.

5 out of 5 stars Can't Wait To Get "Home" After This Long And Challenging Trip!!!   July 14, 2008
Alcorn clearly has spent many years researching where Christians with a true relationship with Jesus Christ will be spending our eternity. This book has a STRONG Scriptural basis and support, is well written and has (without one doubt) changed my view of how my FINAL home will be. Alcorn is correct in that people in general, most Christians included, avoid talking about Heaven, thinking of Heaven and simply find the idea of spending eternity in the same place simply boring and downright morbid. Alcorn's approach is refreshing and helps you just long for it! It is comforting to know where those Christians that have gone before me are and how they are most likely spending their days. I have now purchased several copies for friends and relatives. A wonderful read, truly outstanding, well done and THANK YOU!!!

5 out of 5 stars In Light of Eternity   June 30, 2008
Very englightening. The idea that Heaven does exist gives assurance to
all believers. The skeptics are encouraged to read this book and I am positive that it would change their concept about God and the place He is preparing for for us known as Heaven This book must be read with an open mind and let the heart absorb the wondrful news that there is life after we leave this earth. Heaven is a wonderful place as the author portrays and the Bible confirms his thinking.

This book should be read by all Christians as well as those who are non-believers.

5 out of 5 stars bought several   August 25, 2007
I have been giving these to family who have lost loved ones. Everyone enjoys this smaller researched overview of Heaven! Highly recommend it.

Some folks have complained about this book's lack of proofs and research. I frankly don't see that, unless one wishes not to be convinced. Alcorn gives plenty of scriptural back-up for his premises. If you want college text level documentation, you need to pick up his "Heaven" instead.

"Light" is great for someone who doesn't have the energy to attack a substantial work like "Heaven". I bought it for my mom, who is caring for my dad, who is suffering from senile dementia. She tried to read "Heaven", and what she did read was a blessing for her, but honestly, it just required too much work. She had neither the time nor the energy to get through it. After having read "Light", I would not hesitate to recommend it to any but the most meticulous and pedantic of scholars. It is certainly preferable to "Heaven" if you're buying it for someone who is suffering from an illness or situation that saps emotional and intellectual energy.

In addition to its simplicity, "Light" has the power of concise writiing on its side. Short works are often the most powerful, and this is true of "Light". I got more in-depth knowledge from "Heaven" (and I'm re-reading it), but "Light" will stay with me in a way that "Heaven" isn't going to do.
