Product Description Spurgeon s devotional classic is now available as a two-book set, allowing readers to open and close their day with passionate insight from God s Word.
Generations after Charles Spurgeon s death, Christians are still finding his rich biblical understanding in both Morning by Morning and Evening by Evening to be a great way to begin and end their day. In this two-book set of Spurgeon s classic devotional, pastor-author Alistair Begg has carefully updated Spurgeon s language while faithfully preserving the original message.
The 365 readings in each book are newly available in high-quality binding and an easier-to-carry size, and feature the English Standard Version Bible for the Scripture text. Also sold individually.

A Must Morning by Morning June 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received this book as a present, which prompted me to purchase two copies to give to friends. This book is a "must" for anyone who is interested in morning Devotionals. So many times something will happen during the day that was addressed that morning. Spurgeon is simply wonderful. Purchase with confidence, you will not be disappointed.
Finally - the edition we've been waiting for March 26, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As far as devotions go, Morning and Evening is (in my opinion) the best. It is theological as well as pastoral. You can see Charles Spurgeon's great pastoral heart come out on each section as he shows the glory of Christ through the Bible and implores those who do not know him to seek Christ at this present moment.
This isn't a devotional that focus on the "easy" verses. It takes the entire Bible as its canvas and works out using some obscure areas to drive home points I wouldn't have seen on first glance.
This edition is even better - splitting the two up (so, from what I assume you keep Evening by Evening at your bed side table - and take Morning by Morning with you) into two nice small editions. They are made with that DuoTone material which comes off very nice in blue (morning) and white (evening). They feel good to the hands and having a bookmark in each is stellar. I find myself reading this more because I am reading two separate books, so I am not always concerned about follow along perfectly.
If you need a devotion, I can't recommend any one more than this and with the edition of the ESV (one of the most readable and poetic translations) you can't go wrong. I can't recommend this one enough.
